    ElementParent function for IBM Planning Analytics (TM1)

      ElementParent returns the parent of an element in the dimension.

      In the video, ElementParent will be used to return an element’s first parent. The result will be stored in the Employee Salaries cube.

          What is the syntax for ElementParent?

          ElementParent(dimension, hierarchy, element, index)​

          • Dimension =  Dimension name.​
          • Hierarchy = The name of the hierarchy.​
          • Element = The name of an element within the dimension.​
          • Index =  A positive value

          • ElComp = Returns the name of a child element from a consolidated element based on the position
          • ElCompN = Returns the number of components under an element
          • ElementComponent = Returns the name of the child of a consolidated element
